About
I don't just take photos. I capture memories.
Satin & Silk Studio is a wedding and portrait studio photographing weddings, elopements, engagements, maternity, newborns, families, Mommy + Me sessions and couples across the United States.
I love natural light, and I have a deep belief that the images worth keeping are the ones that feel true. Not constructed. Not staged. Just honest and alive, the kind that makes you stop scrolling.
I photograph couples, families, and individuals, from a quiet hour in golden light to full days I follow from start to finish. No matter the session, I bring the same thing: genuine attention, a calm presence, and a real love for finding beauty in the details most people walk right past.
My story
I built this because I needed it to exist.
Before this, I spent years as the only graphic designer inside a fast-growing company, carrying the creative weight of an entire brand, largely on my own. I was good at it. I was also slowly losing the part of creative work that made me love it in the first place. When that chapter ended, I didn't go looking for another place to fit. I went looking for something that felt like mine.
Photography gave me that. It taught me to slow down inside a moment instead of managing it from the outside. To make something beautiful not because it was overdue, but because it deserved to exist.
I've always been more drawn to the honest version of things: the unscripted expression, the imperfect light that somehow works perfectly, the quiet detail nobody staged. That instinct is what I built Satin & Silk Studio around, and it's what I bring to every single session, no matter how big or small.
Today’s ordinary, tomorrow’s heirloom.
The philosophy behind Satin & Silk Studio
A little about me
What drives me, creatively and otherwise.
I'm warm, a little funny, and genuinely happy to be wherever I'm shooting. I think great images start with a great energy in the room, and that's something I take seriously.
01
The way I see
I'm drawn to natural light, honest angles, and the moment just before someone remembers there's a camera. I've always been more interested in what's true than what's perfect, and that shows up in everything I make.
02
The way I am on a shoot
Easygoing, present, and genuinely excited to be there. I work to build ease naturally: moving quietly, staying in the background, and stepping in only when something's worth finding.
03
What I'm always looking for
The unguarded expression. The imperfect light that somehow works perfectly. The quiet detail nobody staged but everybody remembers. I stay ready for all of it, no matter what I'm shooting.
04
What I believe about this work
More than photographs — a breath of life, a reflection of love, and a little piece of forever. That's what I set out to make when I left a career that didn't fit, and it's the foundation everything I build is rooted in.
05
What I'm like off camera
I love being outdoors, I take my coffee seriously, and I'm the kind of person who notices when the light changes. That attentiveness doesn't switch off when I put the camera down.
06
How I handle the rest
I'm organized, communicative, and fast with delivery: sneak peeks within 24–48 hours, full galleries in about a week and a half. I believe the work doesn't stop when the session does, and I treat the behind-the-scenes with the same care.
Why a key
A day you can open again
The moments worth keeping are the ones that pass fastest. A first look. A hand on a belly. A child who won't be this small next year.
The key is my promise about what happens after the session. Your photographs are kept carefully, handed to you beautifully, and yours to return to for the rest of your life.
How I work
Present. Flexible. Completely yours.
I don't show up to direct your day. I show up to experience it alongside you. My approach is documentary at its heart: I'm here to feel the room, follow the light, and capture what's actually happening. The real story, not a curated version of it.
●
Before we even meet
You reach out; I respond quickly, with no pressure and no pitch. Just a real conversation to see if we're a good fit. I want to hear about your day before I say anything about myself.
●
Getting to know each other
We talk about your vision, your people, the feeling you want when you look back at these photos years from now. I listen more than I talk, and I remember the details that matter to you.
●
The day of
I arrive early, settled, and genuinely happy to be there. I'll ease into your day quietly: observing, watching for light, staying out of the way until there's something worth finding.
●
The moments between the moments
The big moments are easy to photograph. What I love are the ones in between: the exhale before you walk in, the glance across the room, the laughter that nobody planned.
●
The morning after
Sneak peeks land in your inbox within 24–48 hours. A curated set of images to share, to cry over, to send to your mom. You shouldn't have to wait to feel it all over again.
●
Your gallery, forever
Your complete high-resolution gallery arrives in about a week and a half, along with a personally curated album crafted after your honeymoon, so the whole story lives somewhere beautiful and permanent.

These photos are so amazing! We are in awe. We really can't thank you enough!
Grace + Matthew · Engagement session
This past Sunday, Jordan and I had actual wedding pictures done since we didn't get any when we got married back in October. I'm so incredibly happy with how these turned out! I'll post them after we show Grandmom in person. Thank you so much!
