Mommy + Me sessions are open to all mothers and their children. Biological, adoptive, foster, and stepmothers are all equally welcome. This is about the bond, not the paperwork.
New moms
Your baby is under a year old and you're ready to step in front of the camera together. Whether this is your first session or your fifth, this moment deserves to be preserved.
Moms with toddlers
The running, the giggling, the "I do it myself" energy. These are the moments that disappear faster than you think. Sessions are designed to keep up with them.
Moms with multiple children
Whether you have two kids or five, sessions are structured to capture each child individually as well as the full family dynamic, working around each child's energy and needs.
Maternity clients returning
Many maternity clients come back for their first Mommy + Me session once baby arrives. You can even pre-book with a 50% deposit while you're still expecting.

Sneak peeks arrive within 48 hours. Your full gallery, delivered within 7 business days, includes high-resolution images, social media-ready files, and your personal print release.
Family-friendly experience
Every age has its own magic
Mommy + Me sessions are typically for children ages 1 through 13. Sessions are adapted to meet each child where they are, not where we wish they'd stay.
Ages 1–2
Babies & young toddlers
For children who aren't walking yet, sessions focus on close-hold portraits, cozy basket compositions, and laying-down moments. We plan the session around nap and feeding times. A well-rested baby makes for the most beautiful photos. Please arrive with your baby fed and ready.
Ages 2–5
Active toddlers
We embrace the energy. Sessions start with candids, letting your toddler run, explore, and have fun, so they feel comfortable and we capture authentic movement. From there, we ease into more guided moments together. The best shots often happen when we're "just playing."
Ages 5–13
Older children
Older children get more comfortable in front of the camera quickly. Sessions include a mix of posed portraits, candid interactions, and individual shots. We start with posed photos to get everyone comfortable, then move into natural connection moments with mom.
All together
More than one child
Sessions with multiple children are structured to capture each child individually, sibling moments together, and the full group with mom. We work off each child's needs and energy. If one is having a moment, we pivot and come back. No one gets left out.
One day you'll pick them up for the last time without realizing it. The cuddles, the giggles, the hand that always finds yours. These ordinary moments quietly become the memories you wish you could revisit.
Preparing for your session
What to know before you arrive
You'll receive full preparation guidance before your session. Outfit coordination, location planning, and posing direction are all included. Here are the most important things to keep in mind as the day approaches.
Plan around naps & feeds
Schedule your session when your child is rested and fed. Please arrive with baby ready. A comfortable child makes for the most natural, joyful photos.
Outfit guidance is included
You'll receive wardrobe recommendations before your session. Coordinating colors photographs more beautifully than matching outfits, and you don't need to buy anything new.
Sentimental items are welcome
A favorite blanket, book, or comfort object can add meaning to your photos. For toys, keep in mind that bright, bold colors can shift the overall feel. Choose items that complement your session's look.
Postpartum moms
Sessions are recommended after the 6-week mark, when you've begun to reintegrate into everyday life. There is no ideal body, only the real one your child knows and loves.
Location options
Sessions take place outdoors, in your backyard, or in-home. We'll discuss what works best and what the space looks like before committing. Studio sessions are coming soon.
Things moms wonder before booking
We've heard it before. Here's the truth.
"I don't know how to pose."
You don't need to. Posing guidance is included with every session. The same technique and lighting approach used across all Satin & Silk Studio portraits is applied here. You just show up and we handle the rest.
"I don't feel photogenic right now."
This is the most common thing moms say, especially postpartum. These photos aren't about what you look like. They're about the way your child looks at you. That's what lasts.
"What if my child won't cooperate?"
We start with candids on purpose. Children explore first, which means they're relaxed and natural by the time we move into anything guided. Some of the best images happen in the first five minutes.
"My kids never sit still."
That's exactly the point. Toddlers are more active, so we photograph them that way: action shots, candid movement, natural interactions. Still photos are only one part of the session.
"What if my baby cries?"
It happens. We schedule around nap and feeding times to minimize disruptions, but baby health always comes first. A short comfort break is completely fine. We just keep the session flowing as smoothly as possible.
